So! How do you find my homepage? Nice huh! Thanks for visiting my webpage. That's me, a Jedi! Want to be
my apprentice? I will teach you the way of the Force!
I've started setting up my web page since mid 1995 when public ISPs started
appearing in Singapore. My early web page had no theme associated with it and only recently, early 1998,
have I started upgrading my web page to feature all of my Star Wars Collections.
I started collecting them since the early 1996s (Yeah! I know. It's a bit late). I'm very choosy and don't
collect every single item released. Moreover, you won't find a whole lot of Star Wars collectibles in this
part of the world. I usually need to travel to get them or attempt to purchase them from the web which makes
them even more expensive to have them shipped to my country. I can only read news about them and drool.
Most of the time, I find myself spending too much time playing computer games. With the
introduction of accelerated 3D cards, I started to restrict myself in purchasing games that support these
cards. First person games are my favourite but only those that have story lines and puzzles, eg: System Shock,
Jedi Knight II:Jedi Outcast, not those meaningless killing kind. I prefer co-op than anarchy. I do play RPG games like
Might & Magic, Ultima Series, Underworld, Morrowind, Neverwinter Nights, etc. I also played adventure
games like Monkey Island, Space Quest. Space simulation games like, Descent, Wing Commander.
My outdoor activities include cycling and I owned a Gary Fisher Mountain Bike (1998 Big Sur). Check out this
page The Science of Cycling. A must read for cyclists.
Used to play with
R/C (Remote Control) models but couldn't find time now due to work. I owned a Tamiya TA02 chassis Loctite and a
Tamiya TA01 chassis Dirt Trasher using Matrix Motors and ESCs.
As for movies, I will not miss any that are SciFi related and sports lots of Special Effects. The screening of George Lucas'
Star Wars Episode I:The Phantom Menace and Episode II:Attack of the Clones, here in Singapore, was the most exciting time for me.
I'm now eagerly waiting for the final Episode III which will be screened sometime in May 2005. My other hobbies include Miniature Modeling (Gundam, Armour) and
Jigsaw puzzles.
I've read most of the books by Clive Barker, Michael Crichton, William Shatner's Tek War series and Quest for Tomorrow
as well as Margaret Weiz's & Tracy Hickman's Death Gate series.
Here's how my current system is configured.
I'm currently employed as a Senior Systems Analyst working in Unicom Databanks Pte Ltd, a wholly owned company of
United Overseas Bank.
I've been coding with Java since early 1997 and my current project deals with JSPs using Weblogic, Struts, Toplink, etc.
I contributed a small part on GridBagLayouts in the recently released Swing book
by Matthew Robinson.
I've worked with other platforms and languages like IBM AS400, IBM Mainframe, OS/2 PM, COBOL,
Visual Basic and VisualAge C++ on Warp 4.0 to name a few. If you're into User Interface Designs, I recommend a great site,
UI Design, by David Anderson, that deals with this.
You can find out the best prices for all the
computer hardware in my country at HardWare Zone.
